Temperatur starts at 503 Celcius

Often - not always - at power up the temperatur "is" 503 degrees C and then it does not get hot. It ignores setting the temp. - the only way - so far - is to disconnect the hot end and reconnect it.
Is that a known bug with a known solution?

What type of huxley do you have? Whats electronics/version are you using? What control software are you using (reprap host or replicatorg etc.)

TZ-Huxley, Pronterface.

I never experienced that, it seems like a bug happens in the hotend control daughter board initialization sequence.
I know no better solution than what you do. Do you need to cut the power to the mainboard for your unplug/replug "fix" to work ?

Most of my technical comments should be correct, but is THIS one ?
Anyway, as a rule of thumb, always double check what people write.

To me this sounds like a short in the thermistor wiring. A nasty one, which vanishes after re-plugging. Having a thermistor resistance of zero ohms gives very high temperature values.

It is not necessary to power down the mainboard, just disconnect the thermocouple board and reconnect. No doubt it is an initialization problem.

Dis- and reconnecting the thermistor doesn't initialize anything.

Well. The communication between the mainboard and the thermocouple-board must be restarted....There is no thermistor in the TZ Huxley.
