Need help with Ramps Firmware

Hello everybody.

I've managed to make dry runs out of my mendel prusa build.
Now I'm working on the extruder and hot end and I have problems.

First off, I'm using Ramps 1.4, with sprinter firmware, and repsnapper host.
I made it work with this setup.

The problem is I probably have a defective ramps shield. The extruder output (D10) is always around 7 Volts, even when the ramps shield is unplugged from the arduino and powered on, I still get 7 volts.

With the sprinter firmware, I can control the "fan_pin" from 0 to 12 volts using the repsnapper software.
But the heater and bed heater pins will just not come "on".
I've tried to change the pins around and swap the Heater_0_pin and Fan_Pin, with no luck.

Then I tried the Tonokip firmware. With that firmware I can swap the Heater_pin to my working D9 pin and it works.
Problem is my motors will only run in one direction.

I tried a couple of other firmwares, with no luck.

So I downloaded the Ramps 1.4 test code thing, ran it, it works, except for my defiective pin. (D10).

Now that you know what I've been through: the real question is:

What's the best firmware/host software combo to use with Ramps 1.4?

I just want to melt some plastic, please help me. Thanks!

Hello...

Did you change the motherboard type is sprinter to 33 as this will pickup the right pins.h file..

Yes, I did. But there is another section in section 33 regarding V1.3 and V1.1,

// uncomment one of the following lines for RAMPS v1.3 or v1.0, comment both for v1.2 or 1.1
#define RAMPS_V_1_3
// #define RAMPS_V_1_0

This is how I am configured. Yesterday I made some testing with repsnapper. I hooked up the heater to the output D9, and using the cursor I was able to control the heating manually. It worked great, but not automatic. The thermistor reads the temperature pretty okay for now.

So I tried to change the heater_0_pin to 9 instead of 10, and swap the Fan_Pin to 10. No luck, it doesn't work.

Motors moving only in one direction use to be caused by end-stops not connected or not properly configured in the firmware.
