RepSnapper not detecing RAMPS 1.4

Hello everyone,

I am pretty new to the Reprap scence, this is my first printer. I finally got the thing built but not I am having problems getting the board to communicate with the computer. I am running Windows 7 on a 64 bit machine. I have built a Prusa Mendel model and having a RAMPS 1.4 & Arduino Mega 2560 board for the electronics.

I purchased a LED power supply to power the board and has the required current. When I frist connected the circuit to the computer a LED 01 (right near the USB connection on the RAMPS board) would just continuley flash. After searching the internet for awhile I thought it may be the drivers and the firmware. I downloaded the latest drivers and installed Merlin on the board. In the Arduino software it says it uploaded successfully but now there is no LED flashing on the board.

I have tried checking the BAUD rates and making sure they are both set to 115200. Whenever I try and get RepSnapper to communicate with it just tells me no printer is connected.

Please help me figure this out. If you need more infomation I would be happy to provide it.

Update: Tried re-uploading the firmware again - LED will flash once when connecting USB to computer then go off and stay off. Will not let me upload firmware, just says it timeouts

RepSnapper is old software. Use Printrun or Repetier (I recommend Repetier). [github.com]
