New Thermistor stuck at 357C

In the quest for a reliable hot end I've decided to stop trying to fix the "brand x" hot end i'm using and replace with a J-Head Mark V B. Upon completion of wiring the new J-Head hot end, Pronterface/Repetier-Host are reporting back my temperature as 357C.

I've searched a bunch of forums and most people indicate this is a short or burned circuit. I can verify the circuit is good because when i plug the old hot-end/thermistor back in, the temperature reads accurately (22-23C at idle, more as I heat the block). Plug in the new thermistor, back to 357C.

My multimeter is reading 108K, so I think i've also confirmed this isn't a short problem with the wiring/thermistor itself.

The website I bought this hotend / thermistor from (hotends .com) indicates this has a beta value of 4066.

Here's what i'm running:
Prusa Mendel
Arduino Mega 2560 / Sprinter firmware (default settings)
RAMPS 1.4
Pronterface and/or Repetier-Host for software

Any recommendations on how to fix this? I'm not sure how to use a new beta value or thermal table if that's the issue.

Thanks very much,

Nevermind.. User error... had the thermistor and 'heating element' wiring reversed.. = duh..
