Hi,
My name is martyn. and I am very new to the 3Dprinting scene,
I recently bought a Hic LCD screen Reprap Prusa i3 aluminium framed DIY Printer. I have built it and have printed some items with it, My wish now is to implement Auto levelling using a servo.
The printer uses marlin firmware and at the moment I am using "cura" software The problem I have is that the firmware I have appears to be HIC specific and when I have tried upgrading to marlin 1.0.2-1 which I understand is the most reliable firmware in use at the moment, I have tried following some of the setup procedures available online and made the alterations to the configuration.h file which compiled ok using arduino. when I have uploaded the file to the printer, the lcd screen is blank and when the control knob is turned nothing happens. When revert back to the Hic firmware it seems to work fine
Find attached picture of the control board that came with the printer.
I have checked the bank of 4x3 pins just above the reset switch which I assume is where the servo is connected for a voltage with a multimeter and there is 5,v with the centre pin being negative and the pins to the right of centre being positive, so I don't think that's the problem. I am erring to the problem being the way I am setting up the firmware.
Has anybody in this forum got the same printer and has managed to implement auto levelling using a servo, if so can they please help me
