Using AUX1 & AUX 2 ports

Hi,

I am new to this forum. I hope you guys be patient with me.

Ok, I have a RAMPS 1.4 board driving a prusa i3 printer. I want to control a 12V DC fan with one of the pin on the AUX1 or AUX2 ports. I want to turn on and turn off the fan by controlling the pin using GCode. Would you guys please lead me to any reference for this?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Jo

for a cheap option Google ramps fan extender

You can just wire this up to aux1 or 2 data lines (or put it on servo plugs, as its designed for it)

Then use the P42 P## S###

You should probbly use a pin that can do hardware PWM, or it will be on or off only, no variable speeds.

I have a rough guide on configuring Marlin and RAMPS to use fan expansion boards here - that may be of some use to you.

Let me know if you have a question, I'd be happy to try and help.
