Heated chamber, marlin's temperature protection kicks in all the time
January 04, 2016 10:45AM
Hello,

I've put a heater in the chamber to bring it up to temperature.
The heater is connected to the "second hotend" output.
The heater is not able to overheat (no fire hazard) so the temperature sensor is placed somewhere else in the chamber.

I want to bring it up to, let's say 50degees C but a few seconds after starting the heater, marlin's temperature protection kicks in because there is no immediate temperature increase detected.

I can't turn off this safety in the software because this setting is the same for my hotend, which DOES need this safety.
Is there any way I can make sure marlin knows this is not actually a second hotend but a slow process, heated chamber?

Kind regards,
Fallout

I'd control the chamber heater with a separate device, or does the printer wait for the chamber temp to reach a certain level?
I've seen cheap temp control devices with LED display configurable for cooling and heating but didn't keep the link.

I want the software to wait until the temperature is at a certain level.

I don't like the idea of adding a separate device for controlling this, it destroys the point of having a microcontroller.
