Ramps 1.4 blue connector overheated.
July 19, 2016 07:05PM
I have had my Sintron Prusia i3 well over two months printing pretty much every other day for my business. Today I noticed that one of the blue connectors on the bottom of the ramps board melted some. Not all the way through but enough to make it look like a drip of melted plastic. This makes the red wire loose inside of the connector. Can I twist the two red wires that heat up the element for the hot end and make it work this way? Or should I replace the ramps 1.4 board with a new one and swap out the drivers, wires, etc. In case someone asks what business I am into here is the link. multicotperdesign. I will take pictures once my phone recharges back up.

I guess it happened the other way round:
The cable came loose and the higher contact-resistance created the heat that melted the housing.

So make sure, the cables get good contact next time or solder them directly if you can.
