Is This normal?? Lcd lights up

Is it normal, on the ramps 1.4 for the LCD to light up, when there no power connected, and moving the axis by hand,??? I had my printer off, and was moving the axis, by hand, to see if the belt was skipping, and I notice when I moved the axis back and forth, the lcd would light up??

Just wondering if anyone else notice this?? Thanks

Yes that's normal. The motors act as generators if you move them by hand, and when the drivers are commanded to decelerate.
