Keep blowing my Arduinos regulator...
September 10, 2016 11:09AM
Hello, Hope someone can help.

Just blown the regulator in two Megas, now, after the first one, I swapped out the ramps board completely except for the fans on 12v aux and the steppers.
I'm guessing I have a short in one of these, but not sure which stepper or the fans, can someone help me to find out which? I have a decent multimeter but no idea what to look for.

I guess I could just unplug the fans and plug in my last arduino but its a pricey way to check lol.

I think I need to order some regulators heh.

Usually a graphics lcd puts the 5v regulator at it's limit. One fix is to remove D1 and supply 5v to the MEGA.

It was a bad stepper, I didn't have a LCD plugged in. Funny its been fine for the last year, ahh well.
