Ramps 1.4 + ATX Power Supply

Hi folks

I have a Tacens 12V 26A power supply

PSU can start itself, but when i pluged it to Ramps 1.4, NOTHING.

What can be the reason?

Thanks to all in advance!

My wiring is just ;

Green to GND (for self start)

2 x 12V (yellow) ATX to Ramps
2 x GND (black) ATX to Ramps

Ramps + Arduino Mega

Arduino pluged to laptop via USB

I got nothing hooked up on ramps (heatbed, driver, ext.)

Pictures of ramps power plugs and wires to check wiring?

Here you can see the attachment for wiring

I also loaded the 3.3V sense pin (brown) with any 3.3V (orange) cable

PS.: Arduino + Ramps combination without PSU

Arduino = Plugged to laptop = Ramps Led1 blinks once

Clicking Ramps Reset button = Led1 blinks twice

Mainly wanted to check you had the + and - correct, and you do.

Some power supplies need a load on the 5v lines...

When i connect a red 5V cable with a GND cable PSU ıs not starting

That is not a load, that is a short!

And shorts always stop the power supply, and if they aren't protected they explode!

Never ever connect a supply line to GND.

You need a load. Something with resistance.

I connected 5V with 10 ohm resistor. (then realized that is not necessary 3.3V sense short is enough)

I pluged only 12V 11A section. This case PSU is starting and giving 12V to board.

Just 12V5A section is not working. But Ramps seems very clean from outside.

Long story short;

Only 12V 11A section connected = PSU starting and giving 12V to Ramps

When 12V 5A section is connected = PSU is not starting

As seen in photos there is no visible problem.

How can i test for the malfunction reason?

continuity test:

5A section : beeping
11A section : not beeping

5A section is definitely faulty.

Check D2 (the one behind the big yellow square poly-fuses) This is designed to blow if you plug the power supply in backwards, but sometimes it stays shorted.
You can just remove it, but then make sure you don't get the + and - wires swapped!

Thank you so much
Now it is working
But i will reinstall d2 with a new one for sure
