BJP,

i'm currently having a machinist build my hotend. anong dapat baguhin para ma accomodate yung 1.7mm na filament? halos 2k din magagastos ko so no waiting time.

hustler yung machinist. di ko pa sinasabi na extruder alam na nya agad.

yung pinagaya ko ay yung extruder sa portabee ni romscraj.

i finally got everything complete. including a hot end for the 1.7. i've tested the heater block using a 6.8 resistor - carbon type. didnt last for 20 minutes. asked a techie friend why is that so. i was told that i should look for a nichrome type resistor. spent the whole day last saturday in raon hoping to score one. it does not exist anymore. i was told on a diferrent forum that newer resistor are all made of carbon. no more nichrome type resistor available at present.

searched for a ceramic cartridge heater supplier locally. i stumbled one near me. charges 1600 a piece. 10 pcs min order. 1 week turn around.

i better buy this from a hk ebayer. $30 plus $12 shipping plus say about $10 duties and taxes = $52. more or less 2200php.

anybody have better idea or can point me to one who can provide? smiling smiley

what voltage are you applying on the resistor and what is the wattage of your resistor?

@waitaki, i'll try those. just place my order. thanks for the heads up!

@joeglens, 12V. 2w lang ang available dito. been looking for 5w. pero ibang shape na. not applicable to the heater block. waitaki pointed me to a 2.5w resistor. let's see how it holds up. smiling smiley

forget the ceramic hot end. I had a rostock builder over at the shop last week showing off his parts and he told me that the heat in the hot ends would melt the filament in the wrong place.

I tried to message you on FB but it went to your other folder. FB asked for 41 pesos to send you a message.

i am actually stocked due to the hotend.

did some simple cold end just so i can make this thing work. the previous one is made of pla and it just melts. sad smiley

bought some teflon block yesterday for the cold end. its a bit overkill but i just want to make this thing print as soon as possible.

i'm getting tired of watching it move without a working extruder. sad smiley

Hi,

I'm currently in the process of making my own 3D printer. I just need to source NEMA 17 stepper motors and have some parts machined. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to get them?

Hi, try ebay or aliexpress.com. Sellers are reprapdiscount or wantaimotors(wantmotors), I think they ship straight to Philippines. I've never bought anything yet, that is just based on my research and lurking in the forums. Good luck.

thanks for the response. I've actually found them in eBay but am hoping to find them locally if possible. there's someone selling in Sulit.ph but their price is more than double of the ones from eBay.

try egizmo. 220 a piece.
Re: 3d Printer for Philippines

@nyr, I guess it's better to source it locally as you're also helping the economy, as long as the price is reasonable.

@f3rDz Checked e-gizmo, couldn't find the exact nema17 or they have a counterpart?

did you check on line or at their store? their part list is so outdated.

i was there a week ago and there are still about 20 nema17 motors there.

is that using your self-designed hotend?

@f3rDz from what I know, e-gizmo has no brand new motors. were you able to get new ones? my other concern is not being able to get the technical datasheets
Re: 3d Printer for Philippines
May 20, 2013 07:50AM
most of what e-gizmo's items are used. so no part number to get datasheet from

kahit sa alexan, muckhang brand new nga pero wala ding model or part number. even the brand is not there.

Hello. I'm having issues with my Gen 6 board. I was trying to revert to the original firmware and I received an error while uploading. Now the controller wont work and I need someone to re burn a bootloader to the controller for me. I can't find any local supplier for a USBtiny to reprogram it myself, will a ATMEGA ATTiny ATMEL AVR 51 ISP USB Programmer work instead?
