The progress bar
December 19, 2007 04:07AM
I figured this would be a good way to show how each of us is progressing. I know I won't be able to make all the meetings, but I might have some things done that others would need help with or visa versa.

Here is my done list:
1. software installed and running
2. working power unit from old pc
3. power comm board put together and working

working on:
1. in the proccess of putting together the 5 UC boards
2. about to test and program the PIC chips

waiting on:
1. ordered 3 NEMA 23 stepper motors, should be here by the end of the week

Here is my done list:
1. Working power unit (I have an old PC that I will use for parts, so that is covered.)

Working on:
1. I have a complete set of boards and parts but I have not had the time to work on them yet.
2. I have purchased parts for the McWire RepStrap and I have the X-axis working but again I need to find more time to work on this.

Waiting on:
1. I need to order motors but I have not seen them on the RepRap store yet.
2. Software (I really don't know where to start and I think I will need someone to come to my house and do this for me.)

Where did you get your motors from?

I left a link in the motor subsection. It's a store on ebay. [stores.ebay.com]

2 PHASE
.9 DEGREES
5.4 VOLTS
1.5 AMPS
400 REVOLUTION steps
8 WIRE

for $28

edit: here is another good link to a 200 step motor for the same price

Editing the post would work well, but it might be better to highlight the new stuff like below with standard forum coding.
Ijust got my motors from eBay. They look used, but in good condition. I'll test them a little later once I program the board.
I might be able to help you with the software thing. I'm assuming you can program the PIC chips though?

Dylan,
Glad to here that you are still working away on your reprap. I am still here and I have just rebuilt my car. I am at a car show tomorow but I would like to meet up and catch up if we could. Lets plan to have another Houston RepRap meeting. We can have it at my house, or we could meet at a place closer to you. I would like to get my system working and to figure out what is going on with one of my stepper motors.

Sounds good. I'm not sure if I can fit mine in my car though. I'll think of something.
I should be done with a partially working model by the time we meet up. I also have a few designs in mind on how to recycle HDPE around the house, but am broke at the moment, so I might try and get someone to fund parts for me if possible then release the plans to the community if it works well.

I would be interested in attending or hosting a meeting. I am working on a non-reprap 3d printer and would like some feedback from people with more skill.

I live in the Medical Center area, in a large house with multiple roommates who would be interested. I work weekdays, so either weekday evenings or weekends would be good for me if there's interest. If you guys want a meeting, I can run it past my roomies.

I am in the Clearlake area and I have a working repstrap made from printer and copier parts (see attached picture). It needs some adjustments, and I have certainly run into the warping problem that others have.

I would be interested in attending a meeting and talking about the various problems that I encountered while building it. I have a lot of stepper motors and other electromechanical parts that I could swap. I also bought a 10 lb spool of 3 mm ABS and would not mind selling or trading a pound or two of it (it cost me $8 per pound).
