First layer issues - corners not sticking
March 07, 2012 01:18PM
I've finally got my prusa printing, but am having some trouble with the first layer. The linked pictures show the problem - some of the corners get laid down correctly, and stick to the bed, whilst others don't stick properly at all, and lead to either warping or the object being pulled free of the bed. Has anyone else encountered the same? Anyone got any ideas on how to fix it?

Machine config -
Prusa mendel running sprinter from pronterface. STL sliced with slic3r 0.6.0 with 0.3mm layers and a first layer thickness ratio of 0.5. PLA extruded at an indicated temp of 220, printing onto cold bed with blue tape.

lower the speed, and/or try to decrease the first layer height some more.

I think your first layer is too high. The filament is not getting squished onto the printbed. You should try lowering your nozzle home position in the Z direction.
