Head failed to keep temperature
May 16, 2012 02:42PM
Yesterday I tried to make my very first print. I bought some PLA and wanted to use that for printing. I set the interface to PLA (185 degrees Celsius i think) and started printing. Since nothing came out, I inspected the filament somewhat more and discovered it was ABS. So I set the heater to ABS and retried. Yeah, something came out, but then it stopped.

I requested the temperature of the heater and sure enough, it had falled down to 190 degrees. So I restarted heating the heatblock and resetted the printing and again the heatblock failed. Does anyone know what this might be?

Using; sprinter firmware (latest), pronterface (latest) and reprap mendel prusa with wade's extruder.

Thanks in advace,

Michael.

The slicing software you're using is set to the wrong temperature.

My next print went somewhat better. It stayed on temprature allright. Too bad the print look more like a ball of wool than the clamp I used from the prusa designs confused smiley

So need to allign everything somewhat better. Any usefull (beginners) guides for that?
