I am printing abs and the outside of walls look perfect but the three layers are not fussing together but making three layers. I am using a .7 nozzle but set the software to .55 and the are not touching. I am running @ 245 with 3mm material

Are you still working on this problem? Do you use slic3r? Its most likely a calibration problem. Do you own calipers?

I have changed the head and have moved to skienforge. It seams to be working well. I have also reduced the temp to 220 as I thing I was baking the fillement.

What is your extrusion width / thickness ratio? Ratios <= 1 will cause the layers not to bond to each other correctly. I use 1.5. Temperature may also be a factor.

i think i have solved the issue, the ratio is 1.6 and seams to be working really well but the hot end failed again and i think it was mainly due to the thermo couple that i was using.
