Supports for Model of Building
June 06, 2013 10:24AM
Hello,

I am trying to print a model of a building and am having trouble figuring out how to add supports in between the floors and underneath ramps. I use Slic3r and it seems that all I get is a big block of plastic and cannot figure out what is the model and what is support? Any ideas or settings that you may have would be appreciated. Thanks

Printer Info:

Model: AW3D XL
Build envelope WxDxH: 12″X 8″X 7″ (300 mm x 200 mm x 178 mm)

Hi
I think you would get a better response if you posted some pictures of what it is your trying to print and /or the model file itself.

I kind of understand what you mean but need more info. I sometimes model in my own supports when things get tricky. I havent really used the "support" feature in slic3r yet as its pretty new

I usually use Cura slicer for models needing support and have had some pretty good results so far. Spending some time experimenting with the settings can significantly reduce post print clean up.

Good luck
