Hi, Im quite new to this 3D printing thing.
Ive got a couple of friends, one with a Mendel, one with the other company's product...
When printing a basic 1" cube, both devices leave the layers clearly visible (and not smooth).
The item Im looking to make needs to be perfectly smooth (interaction between moving parts).
I (we) were wondering is this a problem with the kind of plastics being used?
I imagine that these devices print with a droplet, or a sphere.
Connecting 8 spheres into a cube 2x2x2 will leave a lot of gaps, some that get covered on the insides, but the ones on the outsides leave the gaps exposed.
Is there any way to mitigate this, other than investing in a lot of sandpaper?
or carefully remelting the finished product to produce a smooth surface?
thanks,
john
