Filament jamming

I finally found the location of my jams but not the cause. Can anyone help? As seen in the photo, it appears that the filament is getting bunched up just ahead of the heater. Worked ok the other day; same filament and dimensions are within spec. I thought about tapering the inlet, but would appreciate anyones thought about why this is happenning. Thanks.

Looks like serious heat creep. Is there actually any cooling for the hotend? The part after the bolt/gear should usually reach more then about 30-40C.

Thanks for the reply. I do have the hot end fan running continuously. What is also happening is the z dimensions is not changing resulting in no filament getting out. That may be causing a constipated heater. But the motor works as I can still control it. Thoughts?

Are you sure, you have an hotend for 1.75mm filament or is it drilled for 3mm?
It looks like the hotend is pushing up the molten filament.
