Print pauses momentarily... causing small blobs on perimeter...
August 14, 2012 04:46PM
Hi All -

During perimeter printing, the print head is pausing momentarily. As a result, little blobs are forming in the perimeter. This only happens in curves. It is like the Arduino can't keep up. I have a MendelMax 15+ and I am using Slic3r 0.9.0 with Maxbot's Marlin ZIP. The source file is from Alibre PE.

Any ideas appreciated.

TIA - Brad

This can happen on curves with a lot of segments when printing over USB.
What serial speed is your firmware set to?
Are you seeing comms errors?
The only real solution is to print from SDCard.

Polygonhell -

USB set to 115200. I will try 250000 in Marlin.

Correct me if I am wrong... I can't us SDCard when using 24v power? I think it required D1 diode.

Yes should be able to use it with the USB still plugged in. The diode is needed to run it stand alone.
