Problem with 104gt type thermistor

Hi,
Can you help me track down the source of an issue I seem to be having with your e3d lite6 / 104gt thermistor combo.
When used together I get oscillations in temperate as shown below. (ignore the portion in the middle)
I'm running marlin firmware on a ramps 1.4 board. I have tried Auto PID & Manual PID. Been through the full range of thermistor types in Marlin (including type 5 as recommend) yet the issue remains. If I swap back to a EPCOS type thermistor and block, I had hold the temperature to within 1 degree. With the 104gt I get these oscillations of around 4 degs.
Please help.
I would be quite happy to use one of the clone heater blocks that come with an EPCOS but they are usually too small to fit the E3D heater socks.
PS, i've tried 2 of their 104gt thermistors and get the same issue.
