MKS GEN V1.4 WEIRD BEHAVIOR STEP MOTORS

Hi there !

I am building a printer, I used firstly an arduina mega + ramps 1.6 shield. In this configuration ir worked well.

Then i switched to MKS GEN V1.4 and used the same DRV8825 from the ramps 1.6 and same motors and cables.

All the jumpers below the DRV8825 are connected

I have changed the Merlin FW to GEN 1.3 and UP, added the DRV8825 as the driver

Uploaded the Firmaware on the board.

Everything works, however the motors are presenting a chalenge: using proterface i can make x and y move no problem. If select HOME for X or Y it remains in the same position and just a "clunk" sound is heard.

On the Z axis the motors are just buzzing.

EDIT: cable pairs seems to be fine, just tested again. However these are the same cables that worked on RAMPS 1.6

What is wrong?

If you can run X & Y the only diff for a HOME is the endstops are being used.

Verify they are plugged in correctly and set properly in f/w.
verify them with M119

Try placing head in center to give u time to hit stop or depower and try a home with endstop disconnected.

Buzzing on Z might be an indication that steps/mm are set wrong, current wrong or a power issue.
