Loops on Edges
August 15, 2013 12:56PM
Hi everyone,
I'm using an ORCA V.042 with a wade extruder, 1,75mm PLA and 0.35 nozzle. The printing quality with the newest version of repetier-host (slicing with slic3r) is ok, but on the edges (right angle) a loop is created, like there's too much material or mechanical cause when changing direction. I checked the hardware, everything seems ok. Does somebody know what to to or what causes this phenomenon?

This is how it looks like:

The left part was sliced with slic3r, the right part was sliced with skeinforge (which seems to work quite better).

Thanks for your help!

Blobs on one corner is usually due to the Z-axis move with the nozzle over the part at that location. The extra plastic due to ooze while the z moves is enough to give a little blob and usually the z moves with the print head at the same point on each layer. Skeinforge has some oozebane settings if you want to try enabling that.
