Help with prints?

Thanks for the input.

I''ve recalibrated e-steps took your suggestion and came up with the comparison print. Now, it seems better but i dont think it should still be looking like this right? Also there is still evident issue to the RIGHT side of the print(where the thumb is), lines are BIG.

I actually have a big table fan blowing towards my print, so i dont think this is cooling issue; besides im printing at a slow 15mm/s.2 walls, 0.5 layer height sliced with CURA.

Any other suggestions? Do you see a difference? is it better?

I took a video but cannot upload here, there seems to be a size limit. Where can i show?

Thanks alot in advance

Your still over extruded. What are your current esteps?

Print about 10 layers and drop your esteps by 10% using eeprom. Let it go about 10 more layers and drop again. Keep doing this until you start getting spotty deposition. You may have to drop it down quite a bit. Use the estep value that looks the best.

Your parts look very nice dimensionally. If you do have an issue with your z axis it will be easier to diagnose when the esteps are tuned

Here's a picture of a print with a similar problem. My esteps were off by around 100.

Current step is 140. i tried to go lower around 130 but my wall thickness becomes .3815 instead of .40xx. Shouldnt my objective be getting shell thickness as precise as possible? Also, when i go lower, i have one side of square not connecting with each other. i dont have the part now but ill try to show you next post.

At what layer are you measuring the wall thickness?

Is your X carriage supported only by the threaded rods and nothing else?

Unless the threaded rods are *perfectly* straight you're bound to see some banding, especially at lower layer heights.

Some printers use smooth rods or linear rail to guide the X carriage up and down the Z axis. The threaded rods only provide vertical movement so that type of banding isn't as much of an issue (it can still happen, though).

You only measure the topmost layer: only one layer as best as you can with the caliper. You also want to do several measurements and average them.

You post 10 pictures of bad prints but not a picture of the printer. I googled your printer and there are like 10 different configurations and none of the pictures are any good. Post pictures of your printer...the whole thing...and a few of the Z axis lead screws and Z axis smooth rods.

Hi, im out of town right now so i dont have my printer with me and cannot take pictures of it.

I do have smooth rods not just threaded rods holding up my carriage. It is actually my bed that is moving up and down on the Z-axis.

I have attached another print. I can see improvements especially on the lower part of the print(am i right?). but when it gets higher...you can see the "banding lines", How is this so??

Z-axis threaded rod and smooth rod. Flange bearing and printed bearing to hold 2x m8 nuts tightly.

How do you determine if your rods are bent?

Put them on a surface you know is flat and roll them. If it's not a smooth roll, they're bent.
