First Print Slants in Y Direction?
February 22, 2014 01:40AM
So I just got my prusa i3 up and running started my first test print of a cube. Everything went well for the first layer but once it moved on to the next layer the print started to slant in the y direction. Here is a picture of what happened.

Is this something wrong with the firmware or is it something physically wrong? What should I change to fix this? Any help is greatly apretiated.

How much is your acceleration?

DEFAULT_ACCELERATION 3000
DEFAULT_MAX_ACCELERATION (9000,9000,100,10000)

Try to lower down the max acceleration in half and try again to print..
have you adjust your stepper driver boards?

10% into print after changing the acceleration. Looks great so far. Thanks for the help.

So changing the acceleration helped for small objects but not for larger ones. For instance, when I try printing wades large gear it messes up. It prints fine for the first 3 layers, but always on the 4th it gets misaligned usually in the y direction. I tried tightening the belt on the y-axis and turning up the power on the stepper driver. Even with these changes it still gets misaligned on the 4th layer. What else could be causing this?

Incorrect v-ref on pot, axis binding, driver getting too hot, acceleration still too high, jerk wrong, loose pulley, belt slipping...
