Extrusion Multiplier

Hey,

I have set my extruder steps/mm the best I can, yet when i print out a single walled cube to measure the thickness, i have to drop the extrusion multiplier down to about 0.4-0.5 to get the correct thickness to what is said in Slic3r.

Why do I have to drop it by so much?

Thanks.

Set the extrusion width manually in Slic3r and try again.

Is there any way of checking the size??

Do as tjb1 says. The actual nozzle diameter is largely irrelevant in this case. Set a manual extrusion width in Slic3r, print the object, then measure again.
