printing single width letters, not getting good results

I want to print my engineering seal in PLA.
I have a prusa i3, heated bed at 80 deg, nozzle at 205.
It prints great in general, but really small stuff it garbles.
I'm wondering if anyone has managed to print small letters with any material.
If so, is the trick to go really slow?

I slice with slic3r and use repetier host and firmware.
I tried slowing down like 70% with not much luck.
I do not have a strong fan under the hotend, I know that helps with cooling, but not sure if it makes enough difference.

I have printed items with small cylinders, about 1/16th inch diameter, with some luck. A bit warped though.
Guessing that must work well before tiny single wall stuff will work.

Low acceleration; 1100
Low speed; 45 perimeter, 35 small
I could print the little handle and details on a Tardis door and suprised myself with no strings to remove. I did no post processing besides gluing the parts together. I used to print everything that way and my prints came out better than the industrial printer here at work, by far. Then I upgraded the little guy and I can print faster with higher acceleration and still get the same sharp, sharp edges.

Your temperature settings are worrying

Well, it's worked for about a year, I do have a Solidoodle and I've seen places that say SD temps should be lower. I have absolutely no issues related to temp.

Going slower is one trick, a smaller nozzle is another. What size nozzle are you using? You might also want to tweak the extrusion and retraction rates; it looks like too much material is being laid down.

Did the G-code viewer in Repetier indicate it should have printed well?
