Holes at sharp turns and angles

Holes at sharp turns and angles

So yesterday i tried printing off a test vase, and for some reason all along the edge, after the turns it got these little gaps where the filament got strectched thin. I am printing on a prusa I3 which has been modified from a bowden tube to have a 2 inch long bowden/direct hybrid.

here are the slic3r configs that i'm using with Repetier host if that helps anyone

Somehow the images don't work. Howcome?

Check this site for an explanation of how to tweak the settings for optimal infill: richrap.blogspot.com/2015/01/slic3r-advanced-perimeter-tuning-3d.html

There we go, I think I got the images working this time

Is the file for the vase hollow or a solid model?
If the walls have a set thickness, in those spots it may be too thin.
The best way to print a vase it to have a solid model (closed on top and bottom). Print with either a set number of perimeters or wall thickness (ex. 3 perimeters or 2mm wall thickness). Bottom layers match wall thickness / perimeters. Top layers set to 0. With 0% infill.

alright i went ahead and uploaded the file for the vase on the first comment, but it is indeed a solid model, and then i printed it using the spiral vase option so that it gradually goes up throughout the print and i dont get layer shift blobs. it is set at 0% infill and without a top as the pictures show, and the wall thickness is set to 0 for auto-calculation.

looking at it, i think it may be caused by acceleration control (which smooths the acceleration at turns to lower head jerking and gives sharper corners) and then after the corner when the head is speeding up again , the filament doesnt have enough pressure since it slowed too, so the extrusion rate is essentially lagging behind the head movement by a little bit. this seems logical to me since with my converted semi-bowden setup i still a slight bit of extrusion delay/ooze.

now the only question, is what can i change to get the flow rate to catch up with the head movement?

sorry I don't know your last question, but I know you may can ask the customer service?

well, its just a bit of lag between when the extruder motor speeds up, and when the pressure causes the extrusion to speed up. this is a pretty small delay, but its still enough to make it where the extrusion rate gets shifted around the perimeter a bit resulting in thicker corners and thin spots after the corners.

and im using Slic3r so there is not really "customer" support, i was just wondering if anyone knew if there was a way to fix this by tweaking settings

alright so I turned off acceleration settings and printed it again. unfortunately I am still having the same line of holes/gaps down the side. although it turns out the holes are actually right before the corners, not after them as I was thinking does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

also on a slightly unrelated note, I am using Spiral vase mode, but it is still pausing at one spot for just a split second each layer
