when I go to print it prints on the edge of the heat plate. Can any one tell me how to adjust it to print closer to the middle of the heat plate?

Hello, maybe your endstop is not in the correct position?
Can you adjust your endstop?

If it is printing a straight line, it sounds like an endstop is not attached properly. Probably for the X axis. Check your wires, soldering, and plug for proper connection.

You also have to set the center of your build area in your slicer. You didn't give us any details, so it's hard to know.
