Why aluminium build plate?

Hello,

I would like to know why aluminium is usually used for the build plate. Why not other metals or other materials in general? (I assume we stick with metals since they conduct heat a lot more easily than other materials). But why aluminium?

Can someone please give me a reason.

Thank you

Aluminum is more thermally conductive than most other metals, cheap, relatively light weight, and easy to cut/mill. You could use copper, but it is a lot heavier, more expensive, and harder to machine.
