Object larger in x and y after going to .1 layer height
July 30, 2015 07:20PM
Anyone have a problem with object width changing when going to .1mm prints? So I have been printing fine with .3, .2. Decided to try a .1 layer height on a test cube with the same settings and for some reason it is about 10% bigger in the x y direction. Z is the same. Not sure what happened.

We're not talking about a small discrepancy of, its a big change. Overall the prints are clean, but this new width threw me for a loop sense .3 and .2 we're ok. attached some pics.

.2mm on the left, .1 on the right.

Possibly over extrusion and since the excess can't go up it goes out making the part bigger.

Sorry I posted before viewing the images. That is a LOT bigger. Are you sure you did not scale it in your slicer?

Maybe post the gcodes of both and the stl

Yeah sorry nevermind. I tried to redo it tonight after I got home from work and it was fine. No idea why. When I ouput it last time I exported both the .2 and then .1 right after. Oh well I will blame myself.
