Lumpy/rough surface to layers....

Hi folks....

I am finding that my paints are getting a lumpy and rough surface and when the print head moves over it to go to another area, it drags over the print....
This is more obvious on the first layer but it's gonna put them all out????

Any ideas???

Over-extrusion? Measure your filament to see if it is actually 1.75mm (or 3mm). Or try reducing the "Flow" or whatever the factor is called in your slicer.

Leaking plastic? Are your nozzle and heat break tight in the heater block? Tighten them up when hot.

I did calibrate the e-steps so I'm not sure that's the issue but I will check that anyway....
It's only the first layer that does it.... As I wrote the post, I had just started the biggest print so far (I am still very new to the "Brave new world!)....
And now I have just been to my workshop and the thing is still running like a champ, due to complete at around 08:00...

The filament is 1.75 and if of good quality.... As for the "leaking".... Oh man! I did change the print head last week as the original one was leaking like a leaky thing!
Now fitted with an E3d V6 unit, it prints MUCH better and really, the only problem I am getting is the lumpy first layer???
