Ramps power connector getting fried

Hi,

After so many hours of printing my ramps power connector melted. I took a small video showcasing the problem and my solution to it. So if anyone is facing this issue, this could be useful. Soon i will write this on my blog and you can get more information on the same.

In the past few years I have been busy with prototyping electric car batteries upto 400kW/1000A. We always used "conductive grease" for all the power terminal to eliminate contact problems.

Conductive grease can be DIYed with graphite powder and some thick oil.
The original phoenix contact power connector should be rated for higher amps than 5A, but the counterfeits we might see on the Ramps clones are probably less.

very common problem, just melted mine 2nd Ramps board. I just remove the connector and wire in a Dean's high amp plug , commonly used for R/C projects.

Go to euroblock terminal strips and lose the connector . . . it's not like it's hard to remove/replace 4 wires . . . Or at least use actual Molex parts and not the crappy Chintastic imitations that almost always fail . . .
