typical values for spd/acc etc for i3 rework

Hi folks,
The rework has been printing now for 3 days and behaving itself apart from some strange
surface issues. I am wondering what seem to be the maximun values for speed etc
other people have gotten to with i3 etc.

I've currently got MAX_FEED 150,150,4 and MAX_ACC 10000 6000. Slicer is setup
to perimeter 50mm/s and infill of 80mm/s.

Can they go much higher? Or have i pretty much hit the limits?

Many thanks,
Andrew

With M5 leadscrews, you are lucky to get 4mm/sec. I've reduce mine to 3mm for safety reasons.

The rest depends on your filament and extruder ( IMHO the bottleneck in my Prusa )
I've made test cubes with 120mm XY-speed and the top fill was slightly under extruded with the standard direct drive MK8 non hobbed drive gear.
Don't ask for accuracy at that speed.

Here are mine for a stee frame, E3Dlite6 Wades:

#define DEFAULT_MAX_FEEDRATE {200, 200, 3, 45}
#define DEFAULT_MAX_ACCELERATION {800,800,50,5000}

#define DEFAULT_XYJERK 15.0
#define DEFAULT_ZJERK 0.4
#define DEFAULT_EJERK 5.0

I think my accel or jerk is still too high. On corners I still get a bounce and some ringing; I don't like that excess force.

I'm running XY jerk of 5, and also use 800 for XY accel. I was beginning to think I was the only one that run at the slower end of the range smiling smiley

I like the smoothness of the way it prints with these settings, but the print times can be a bit excessive. One day I'll get around to exploring some faster settings, but it's pretty low on the list of priorities. I design all my parts with heavy filleting, so the jerk value mostly impacts infill.

Hi folks,
When i saw values people have posted I was a little surprised.
Makes me wonder if my values are a bit insane.

I will admit after trying honeycomb infill twice, I switched to rectlinear to stop
my extruder/hotend from shaking itself to pieces.
