Printing 2cm cube and getting this !!!

I am using my scratch built paisa i3 (ramps1.4+mega-latest marlin) while trying to print my first print the problem is that every next layer of print gets printed on totally new place (x axis) attached is the result of 2cm cube .I am using slic3r.Please help guys.


Newbie with scratch built Prusa i3 with Ramps 1.4 , arduino mega using marlin firmware.

You may not have a high enough stepper current to keep it from losing steps or it's set to high & it's overheating or a mechanical problem in that something it preventing the x axis from moving properly.

I've adjusted the pots on stepper drivers,lubricated the rods and belts are also quite ok .Very confused may be someone help??

I would guess binding on the X axis. If you take the belt off the motor pulley how easy does the carriage move?

I had that problem, but not that serious. I found that the cables going to the X stepper motor, were very close to other cables and according a and electronic engineer I have as a friend, this could cause "parasitic current" into the cable. I isoleted those cables, and the problem desapeared.

Resolved !!!

Just changed the stepper driver and everything is fine now (X axis). Thanks everyone for your helpful suggestions.
