Calibration pb.

Hi,

I have a pb with my Itopie.

It prints well, but it's not accurate.

I tried to print this object : [www.thingiverse.com]

The printed square is 40.05 x 40.06 mm : it's perfect for me.

BUT the circle mesure 22,6 mm instead of 23.25 mm !!!!!

Today I try to modify the X and Y settings in configuration.h (in marlin).
So I change my 80 values for both axes in 82.3.

Now the circle is perfect (23.26 mm) but the square is 42mm !!!!

What's wrong and how to fix things ?

Thank you for your help

I dont use items like this for calibrating.
You can either get the inside right or the outside.

Ok.

But If I want later such a hole in a frame, I want it to have the accurate size ...

So what's the solution for my pb ?

Thank you

Once you get the printer calibrated, so that if you tell it to move 10mm, it moves 10mm. To get the inside circles correct, you do test prints to determine the size needed to get the size you want. For example, I have to make 3mm holes 3.5mm in my prints and sometimes they still end up a bit too small.

Buy a set of drill bits and fix/trim holes after print is done. smiling smiley

AFAIK, this is a common problem for holes. Squishy plastic tends to make them smaller.

Not sure if there is a Slic3r setting to compensate it?
