Extruder stripping fillament

Hi there,

I am having issues with my kossel xl that i built a couple of years ago. For some reason, the extruder is stripping out the filament after about an hour of printing. I initially thought it might have been a clog in my hotend, and i do believe this may have been an issue as when i took it apart to check for a clog, there was a lot of plastic on top of the hotend cube (an e3d v6), so i think it was leaking a bit. I gave the whole hotend a good clean. I also took apart my extruder and cleaned the gear to make sure there was no filament dust causing problems. I then tightened the extruder so that it would grip the filament tighter.

An hour into the next print, filament stopped coming out of the hotend...

I am printing at 200 degrees using rigid.inc PLA which i believe is fairly high quality.

This is the shredded end of the filament

This is the normal pattern in the filament.

Any help is much appreciated,

Thanks,
Tom.

Looks like you are biting into that filament fairly hard. Maybe try to back off a bit.
I bet its getting hung on the ridges instead of slipping into the hot end.
