Issue with Z axis height

Hey eveyone.

I'm hoping domeone can help me.

I have a Teebot that calibrates fine.

When I go to print it seems to be 1.4mm too high when it goes to print.

I'm sure it's something in the firmware side. I'm using Slicer to do stuff with.

I'm a noob and really need some guideance. I'm sure it's something I've done as it work first time and since then, nothing.

Thanks in advance.

Peter

If you send a G1 Z0 command, does the nozzle go to Z0 or is it 1.4mm too high.
If it does go to Z0 then look for a Z offset in the slicer

Hey odewan,

When I hit home it says X:020.0 Y:100.0 Z:003.5

G1 Z0 takes it down to 3.1

Now a business card is nice and tight under the nozzle

Obviously I have an offset somewhere

I've attached a file that shows the settings in Pronterface, the actual setting from the machine M115 and M501 and also Slic3r

>>> M115
SENDING:M115
FIRMWARE_NAME:Marlin V1; Sprinter/grbl mashup for gen6 FIRMWARE_URL:[www.mendel-parts.com] PROTOCOL_VERSION:1.0 MACHINE_TYPE:TeeBot EXTRUDER_COUNT:1 UUID:00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000

I look forward to your reply to see what you find wrong.

Thanks in advance,

Peter

In the slicer printer settings you have a Z offset=1.4 mm, this will add 1.4 mm to the nozzle height when you print, however if your nozzle is 3 mm above the bed after homing and sending a G1 Z0 then either
your Z endstop needs adjusting or you have a Z offset in the firmware somwhere

I have an optical sensor on the machine so it seems to sit at Z3.5 on the screen

Doing the G1 Z0 brings it down.

When I go to start a print it goes into the middle of the tray and sits at that Z0 position. As soon as it starts it then goes up too high.

I guess I'll have to look in the firmware for an offset, where should I look?
