I seem to always have this issue on vases. One vase at the top, the other at the bottom. I do believe I have the extruder calibrated properly. But why just parts of the vases, in different areas have the roughness?

Could be the Slicer and not The 3D Printer.
Settings like infill can cause surface the surface flaws.

I am using Cura 15.04, 0 infill, vase mode solid bottom.

looks like I solved it I dropped the extrusion by 5%
