Printer keeps disconnecting from computer

Hello,
My 3D printer uses a RAMPS 1.4 board and an Arduino Mega 2560 board. I am having some difficulty connecting the printer to my computer. The Arduino connects fine by itself and I have already successfully uploaded Marlin firmware. However, I have found that when I power on the printer with the RAMPS board and stepper drivers attached and connect it to my computer, it disconnects after a few seconds. I have found that this problem only occurs when the stepper drivers are connected.
Any help would be appreciated.

Measure the +5V and/or power drain of your support with and without stepper connected ...

I took out the drivers and switched them around, now it seems to be working fine.
