Issue with sensor

Issue with sensor
July 24, 2019 03:44AM
I am using one of the green position sensors for auto bed leveling. It had been working ok with the stock bed on my Tarantula, but it is not detecting the sheet of 6mm thick glass that I have added.
How can I get around this? Will it be practical to use this sensor with glass?

I'm not sure about your 'green' sensor, but can it be that this is an inductive sensor? If so, this will only detect metals, not glass. Some use aluminium tape underneath their glass, but with 6mm thick glass, I'm not sure if the sensor can sense that deep.

Yes, I believe it's inductive, so that figures.

Is there a sensor that works with glass?

There are some sensors available, but I believe the BLtouch sensor is the best one for glass. BLtouch can be used on any material. So it should be the best solution. But there might be others that I'm not aware of.
