Using an Ethernet print server and Marlin on Prusa I3 Pro C

Given the transfer between the host and the printer is a series of ASCII strings is there any reason why I shouldnt use a "Trendnet Multi-Function USB 2.0 Print Server" and connect from the host over Ethernet ??

I have one that will be soon surplus to requirements and wondered if I could use it this way ??

... the driver has to establish a virtual serial port and you have to set the predefined baudrate ... then it's this simple
