I keep getting this error with openSCAD models that seem to render fine.

How can I fix this? Is there a MeshLAB tool that I can use?

You can use:

Netfabb Studio Basic (free)
[cloud.netfabb.com]
[meshlab.sourceforge.net] (see the tutorial)
