Problem with 0.8.2 crashing
June 12, 2012 08:47AM
When i try to slice the bolt head of [www.thingiverse.com] i get a crash.

Slicing C:\Reprap\STLs\Bolt Pencil Case\BoltHead.stl
Slicing: Slic3r/slic3r.exe $s --load Slic3r/config.ini --output $o
=> Processing input file

=> Processing triangulated mesh

=> Generating perimeters

=> Detecting solid surfaces

=> Preparing infill surfaces

=> Cleaning up

=> Detect bridges

Then i get a dialog about Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Can someone try slicing that to see if it is a bug, or is it my settings somehow?
If you can slice it i will give you my settings and see if you crash with them.

BTW Window Vista Home running under pronterface.
thanks

Slicing worked here (on linux).

Most of my technical comments should be correct, but is THIS one ?
Anyway, as a rule of thumb, always double check what people write.

I found the problem.

I had the First Layer Height Ration set to 0.5
My thinking was that it would then be slicing the middle of each layer, rather than the top or bottom.
Anyway - i set it back to 1 and no more crashing!!!
