lift breaks Z?

lift breaks Z?

This is the Gcode for some thumb wheels and nut traps.
when I print this, the printer does not increase Z
I suspect that there's something wrong with lift, since after re-slicing without lift it printed fine.

can someone check this gcode and tell me if I'm correct?

or rather I would have posted the Gcode, but aparently it's too big.

Edit. Lift, not retraction. duh.

You can attach a portion of the g-code, which would help.

Well - the gcode shows 0.1mm layers, with an apparent 0.2mm lift for moves,
up to a model height of 1 mm

You would have to include the STL for any further comment on whether this makes sense or not.

I found that Z backlash made Lift pointless on my Prusa. It would not return from the lift height back to the current print height, leading to a nice plastic rendition of a kittens ball of wool.

I used the same stls (it was two, both with 4 copies) without closing slic3r and removed the lift, and 0.2mm layers (realised 0.1mm was way overkill) and the whole thing printed fine.
I see where the z is in this gcode now, I'll check the full one when I get home.

maybe you're right about the lash... though it seemed to be going back down too far...
lift has worked just fine for me in the past.

Assuming it's not a gcode issue, which I'd be surprised if it were.
The lift is probably trying to move Z faster than the regular layer changes resulting in lost steps.
Backlash should only impact the very first time the lift occurs, it's usually repeatable and it doesn't accumulate.
