1.1.6: Rotate object in x or y direction?
July 21, 2014 08:05AM
Hi,

I'm running the new and stable version 1.1.6 of Slic3r and I'm missing a function from the previous versions...

How can I change the rotation of an object in X or Y direction? It seems that I can only rotate the objects around their Z axis, but sometimes Slic3r 1.1.6 puts in the objects with the wrong side facing the ground.

Anybody has a hint?

As far as I know, slic3r has never had this ability. The only thing I've ever been able to do is rotate around Z. Anything else requires an external program like meshlab.

It's always been that way, Z axis rotation only.

sometimes Slic3r 1.1.6 puts in the objects with the wrong side facing the ground

Actually this happens in whatever program the file was originally made in. Slic3r imports it intact with the original orientation.

You need to fix the file in some other program first.

Rotation around X or Y (as well as mirroring and non-uniform scaling) is now available in 1.2.0
