supports or print without supports

I have designed a 2 part project box that has a slanted top for a lcd display. I designed it using Fusion 360. I do not have much experience using supports. I prefer to design to print without supports.

I print using Repetier Host, and slice with slic3r or slic3r PE contained in Repetier Host.

The link below will take you to a 3d view of the top of my project box.

How can I divide the case top up to print without supports, or what would be the slic3r settings for easily removed supports? I can cut the top into 2 parts fusion at an angle where the slant meets the flat bit.

How would you do it?

Hi Chuck,

I'd split it as shown in the attached snapshot. Then you would print the left side rotated 90 deg ccw so that the back of case is on the table, and the right side rotated 90 deg cw so that the front of the case is on the table. Of course you will have to design an appropriate joint for the two halves.

Best Regards,

Jim Scott
