The first roughly 3 layers are protruding from a test cube. I can link a pic if needed. The first layer though is really nice and smooth. Is there a setting to adjust this?

found the answer. Its normal elephants foot. Ive seen elephants foot compensation online but dont have it in the slic3r?

I see you found solution for the elephants foot on your models. good going.

This a partial reason why I use a little air directed at the model when printing with higher temperature filaments,
Yes I know that there are de-lamination risks in cooling certain types filaments.

This has not affected or caused warping of my ABS models in my heated enclosure as of this posting.
