Funny Rendering!

Hello People.

Attached is an STL file (randomly downloaded from the internet), compressed it to save size/bandwidth.

This file once dropped on the version 0.9.7 seems to be loaded or rendered incorrectly!

Am I missing something? Can we get the source code, so maybe we can debug and find the issue?

Any suggestions, comments are most welcome! smiling smiley

Sincerely,
Vicky

can you be more specific than "incorrectly"?

Granted 0.9.7 has a lot of issues and I don't use it often, I am still using the most stable version 0.7.2b

That being said I sliced your file without noticing anything unusual in 9.7.

Attached is a screen grab depicting what the stl looks like (in green) and what the sliced gcode looks like (in blue) and I see no major issues.

Incorrectly meaning, the 3D rendering you attached is not getting diaplyed!
Am I missing some option to display the same?

Thank you v much for your reply. Vicky

Slic3r does not give you a display of the object. The display I show is by loading the sliced object into Repetier Host. This program has a 3d display.

Slic3r only shows the outline of the top down view. Like a silhouette.

Slic3r versions up to 0.9.7 display the convex hull of the object. Next version will show a more detailed projection.
