Hello,
Anyone have this problem with Slicer that I am having. I load an STL into Repetier and the detail on this STL looks great. Then I go to slice it
and a lot of important details disappear, and it even adds a step or ridge on a smooth surface. It also addes some strange piping on some of the surfaces.
I first thought that it might be my video card, but it printed just like it looked in Slicer.
Anyone have any clue as to what this can be?
Thanks
John

Do you mean something like this?

Yes but I don't know what to do about it yet.

Thanks for the attachments. No, its more like little pipes running on the top of the part. And some parts are missing. I fixed the file in netfabb.
But some other parts are doing similar things. Just not as bad.
If you have similar problems go to netfabb.com , community, and then cloud I think. Send in STL and it fixes it. At least to a degree.
Thanks!!

with the last version i got a error like that but it was limited to solid layers.

What is a solid layer?
Thnx

a layer with 100% fill, like your bottom and top or in your setting in slic3r you can have it to one every # of layers

I have had this issue with many .stl files. Even after I have repaired them. I did find that if I turned off the "Avoid Crossing Perimeters" it fixed some of the issues. If someone has a fix to this, Please let us all know. Some objects slice into a solid block.

If you rotate the object you will get different results. None which are good.

I am using the latest Slic3r 0.9.10b with the following settings:

Update........

Slice your object outside of Repetier.. I just tried it and they now slice just fine. There is a new Repetier version out. I will give it a try.

UPDATE: The new Repetier-Host V0.90B worked great... Try it out!!!!!!

I will try slicing outsided of repetier soon as I figure out how to do that. I guess just download it seperately in another computer.
Or maybe the new Repetier version solves that problem?
Thnx!!

That sounds like the ideal solution. Will do it. Thanks!!
